Náučný chodník Pramenisko

Nature Interest

Are you thinking about what kind of walk to take with your children? The Pramenisko nature trail is a very good choice. It is an easy walk through the swamps with interesting scenery and educational boards that will enrich you with interesting information.

The nature trail is part of the almost 3.5-kilometer walking circuit, which begins at the Exhibition of Tatra Nature - Botanical Garden in Tatranská Lomnica.

Due to its uniqueness, the Spring was declared a national nature reserve (area with the highest degree of protection), belongs to the list of 72 nationally important wetlands and is part of the network of European important Natura 2000 habitats in the category of mountain and foothill floodplain forests.

The path to Pramenisko begins at the Botanical Garden in Tatranská Lomnica, in front of which we find a signpost with an arrow, which helps us with orientation during the entire route. We continue along the green sign, bypass the Titris hotel on the left side, after a short walk along the sidewalk on the meadow we still follow the sign and turn left uphill to the cemetery. At the cemetery, follow the green sign to the right, after a while we come to a road that we cross and continue about 100 meters straight to the beginning of the educational trail Pramenisko, which welcomes us through a wooden gate. The trail itself is only 0.8 km, we will find five information boards on which we will learn about a unique area where water plays an exceptional role - it is a mountain floodplain forest with attractions from the realm of rocks, minerals, herbs and animals. The sidewalk includes two viewing platforms, which allow visitors to observe the surroundings almost from a bird's eye view. The sidewalks are made of wooden boards to walk comfortably in an otherwise difficult wet environment. At the beginning and end of the sidewalk is a wooden box with information materials for German and English speaking tourists, which can be borrowed. Although the sidewalk is accessible all year round, during the winter months the boards are usually snowy, so you do not have to get information on them, it is also better to visit the sidewalk during the growing season of plants, which will enhance the experience of visiting the sidewalk. We can return the same route, or go to the right at the end of the sidewalk over the camp Tatranec and back to Tatranská Lomnica. You can walk the whole circuit in less than two hours.
