Ľudovít Štúr Museum in Modra is part of the Slovak National Museum. It is located in the centre of the town of Modra, in the so-called Emresz's House, which was owned by the family of Karol Štúr's wife and where Ľudovít Štúr spent a great deal of time bringing up his brother's sons after he moved to Modra in 1851. He eventually died in this house on January 12, 1856.
This building houses the main exhibition called Ľudovít Štúr - from studies to actions that gives its visitors an overview of the life and works of Ľudovít Štúr with respect to the historical context. Testimonials from Ľudovít Štúr's contemporaries present him from the personal angle, while the current views of experts are not omitted, either. The exhibition includes not only Ľudovít Štúr's precious personal objects, but also those of Jozef Miloslav Hurban and Ján Kalinčiak, alongside with works by Slovak visual artists and respective written documentation. Ľudovít Štúr's commemorative room marks the last years of his life in Modra and the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.

Národná prírodná rezervácia Šúr pri obci Svätý Jur (19 km S) sa rozkladá na ploche 370 ha. Vyznačuje sa výskytom vzácnej flóry a fauny v prostredí vzácneho komplexu barinato-slatinného jelšového lesa s rašeliniskom. Súčasťou rezervácie je aj riedky dubovo-brestový les nazývaný Panónsky háj, v ktorom sa zachovala vzácna xerotermná vegetácia.
