Štrkáreň is located in the cadastral area of Komjatice. It is a water area with islands, which was created by dredging during the extraction of gravel on the left side of the road from Komjatice to Černík. The area of the gravel pit is 45 ha and its maximum depth is 18 meters.
The lake is a fishing area and a recreational site. There are excellent conditions for water sports such as: swimming, diving, motor boating, windsurfing, etc. There is a sandy volleyball court by the water, which is enjoyed by beach volleyball fans. The water provides pleasant refreshment, relaxation and the possibility of active rest for all ages during hot summer days. In winter there are suitable conditions for skating. The surrounding area offers several opportunities for hiking and cycling.
Fishing is developed in the gravel pit. Fish live here, such as: carp, grass carp, catfish, pike, toothfish, perch, eel, tench, crucian carp, flatfish, etc. The fishing area is taken care of by the Komjatice Fishing Company. Visitors have the opportunity to purchase a guest fishing ticket.
