Our boarding house is situated in the center of the main monument zone directly on the Holy Trinity Square of Banská Štiavnica, a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.
HISTORY OF OUR BOARDINGHOUSE
The house was built in the beginning of the 16th century in a Renaissance style. After the last reconstruction in 2003, it was rebuilt into a stylish boardinghouse with a restaurant and a summer terrace.
ART AND HISTORICAL MONUMENTS
All historical landmarks are close to the boardinghouse: the plague column with the Holy Trinity statue, the Old Castle, the New Castle, Knocking Tower, St. Catherine Church, the Evangelical Church, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Piarg Gate and the Mining Museum in Nature.

Štiavnické vrchy mountains, 23 artificial lakes – tajchy, provide ideal conditions for cycling and hiking, relaxation, bathing, water sports and winter skiing. One of the lakes is just a 10-minute walk from the boardinghouse.

V Štiavnici je všetko hore, alebo dolu kopcom. Dobre padne načerpať energiu v botanickej záhrade, kde nájdete sekvoje aj japonský céder. Sláva Štiavnice nespočívala iba na bohatstve jej podzemia, ale aj na sláve Baníckej akadémie. Zriadila ju v roku 1762 Mária Terézia ako prvú univerzitu svojho druhu na svete a zhromaždila v nej špičkovú vedu a techniku tej doby. Botanická záhrada obklopuje budovy Akadémie.
Tajchy are lakes situated in central Slovakia. They were constructed for the needs of the local mines and today they serve for recreation bathing in the wonderful natural setting next to Banská Štiavnica, the town inscribed in the UNESCO List of Natural and Cultural Heritage.
Arboretum Kysihýbel in the administrative territory of Banská Štiavnica (central Slovakian town inscribed in the List of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage) is the unique experimental forestry area specialized in rapidly growing exotic wood species.
In the village of Banský Studenec there are two lakes lying next to each other - the so-called Kolpašské. These are artificial tanks - tajchy - which were built for the needs of mining. They are currently used for fishing (especially the smaller ones), but also for summer recreation (especially the larger ones). Although the lakes are also called Studenské (after the village of Banský Studenec), they belong to the warmest secrets of Banská Štiavnica. The water in them is controlled, of sufficient quality for bathing. There are changing cabins on the shores of Lake Kolpaš. However, facilities providing services to holidaymakers are not here. The location will be appreciated especially by visitors looking for quiet, little visited natural swimming pools.

Sitno, the tallest mountain of the Štiavnické vrchy Mts., (1,009 m), dominates the south-western horizon of Banská Štiavnica and offers a fabulous view. Three faces of the mountain are steep, almost inaccessible, and on the fourth side the Castle of Sitno, or better said its ruins, stand. It was built in the 13th century on the site of a primeval fortified castle. It is in ruins since the 18th century.

The ruins of the medieval Šášov Castle stand above the river Hron not far away from Žiar nad Hronom in central Slovakia. According to a legend, the lord of the Zvolen Castle had it built for his court joker who saved his life while hunting.
