One of the castles in the region of Považie that guarded the western borders of the Kingdom of Hungary was the Tematín Castle. Its romantic ruins standing on top of the side ridge of the Považský Inovec Mts. are visible from a large distance.

On top of the hill Kostolec on the edge of the mountain range Považský Inovec next to the village Ducové near Piešťany there stood once a fortified site of a Great Moravian magnate. Today remains of the fort offer a wonderful view of the lower part of region Považie.

Just a short walk to the Nové Mesto nad Váhom - on the right bank of the river Váh - you can not miss a picturesque manor house with characteristic onion roofs on the four-aisled towers. This is a remarkable Renaissance manor house from the second half of the 17th century in Brunovce. A mansion surrounded by a park built the Berèéniovcina place of the original wooden hunting lodge. In the years 1695 - 1697, the manor-house mansion with a three-winged floor plan was added, supplemented after 1723 by the barrel towers. The vaults were closed by a strong wall.

An important cultural and historical monument in environs of the world-famous spa Piešťany in south-western Slovakia is the Renaissance manor house with a park situated in the village Moravany nad Váhom.
