In the northern part of the lowland Východoslovenská nížina, the water reservoir attracts in summer season. Due to its very favourable local climate, it is widely used for recreation.

The location of the Medvedia hora resort is located in the most valuable landscape area, at the foot of an elevated promontory - a peninsula of volcanic origin. The picturesque view of the lake shore is connected with the view of the Bear Mountain. The resort is divided by a promontory into eastern and western parts. Prírodná pamiatka Sninský kameň sa nachádza v pohorí Vihorlat v katastri obce Zemplínske Hámre. Pre veľký vedecký a kultúrno-spoločenský význam bol Sninský kameň vyhlásený v roku 1982 za Chránený prírodný výtvor. V súčasnosti možno Sninský kameň nájsť ako prírodnú pamiatku, ktorú tvorí tzv. neplodná plocha (skala) obklopená ochranným lesom.

Thermalpark Šírava is a modern thermal park on the shores of the Zemplínska šírava dam in the village of Kaluža. It is situated on a picturesque peninsula called Medvedia hora (Bear Mountain), which is considered one of the most beautiful places at Zemplínska šírava.

The museum includes approximately 200 guitars of a total of 1,000 exhibits that can hardly be seen together in any other place, as it is the only guitar museum in Europe and only the second worldwide!

At the Zemplín Museum you can learn all the necessary information about cultural, historical and economic development of Zemplín region as well as its animate and inanimate nature. It is situated in a manor house, which is a cultural monument. The museum was founded in 1957. It contains several permanent expositions and often it is a place where other exhibitions are held.

The most attractive cultural monument of the town Michalovce in the east of Slovakia is its manor house. It stands in the middle of the town on the bank of the Laborec river, on the site of the old water castle, which protected the territory against the enemy assaults.

The castle is situated north-west of the East-Slovakian village Vinné.

The Greek Catholic wooden Church of the relics of St. Nicholas the Bishop (Chrám Prenesenia ostatkov sv. Mikuláša – biskupa) was included in 2008, along with seven wooden churches of the Slovak part of Carpathian Mountain Area, on the UNESCO Word Heritage List.

The Greek Catholic wooden church of St Basil the Great from 1750. This three-space log building is covered by shingle roof with two little towers. Interior is mostly in the Baroque style from the 18th century. Iconostas is somewhat younger and it dates to the end of the 18th century. Interior also contains an interesting cupboard made in the Gothic style.

South of Humenné in wonderful woods of the Humenské vrchy Mts. are the ruins of the castle called Jasenov from the 13th century.

The Greek Catholic wooden church of Lords Ascension from 1755. The interior walls of this log building are plastered with clay. Iconostas in this church is in the east Carpathian style, there is also a hand painted altar cross and several crosses carried in processions.

The museum collects and shows the objects presenting the history of Trebišov District. It specializes in the history of agriculture and Tokaj viniculture and it is situated in an attractive manor house built at the end of the 18th century. Other expositions are focused on handicrafts of the south part of Zemplín (smithery, wheel-making and rope-making), folk costumes and folk wood-carving and plastic art of this region. History of farming is also documented by expositions of farming tools and machines. One of the most unusual expositions is the exposition dedicated to history and development of threshing in East Slovakia. It documents threshing of grain by means of flails, through the use of cattle and different machines.
