Water mill near Dunajský Klátov in the lowland Podunajská nížina in the south-western Slovakia is one of few preserved water mills in Slovakia with the bottom mill race.
The lowland Podunajská nížina was ideal for the operation of water mills because of its comparatively bulky streams with adequate inclination and numerous arms. The mill stands next to the Klátovské rameno, the arm of the river Malý Dunaj and it dates to the 19th century.
The mill acquired its present appearance in the 1920 reconstruction. Its last owner was Michal Cséfalvay. The mill operated until the 1940s. When the river canal was dewatered, the grand wheel broke down.
Thanks to the staff of the Žitnoostrovské Museum in Dunajská Streda, the mill was reconstructed and reopened in 1987 with the aim to demonstrate how it worked. Original furniture and equipment including milling utensils have been preserved inside the mill.
The mill is able to operate but the low water table in the arm does not allow it. In difference from other mills on the Danube it has a bricked grinding plant while the wheel and the drive are in a wooden shelter.
The mill constitutes a nice element amidst the charming setting of the Natural Reserve of Klátovské rameno. Especially nice are the white water lillies.

Pan mill in Jahodná, in the south-west of Slovakia, is one of the interesting wooden water mills on the river Malý Dunaj.
The Museum of Žitný ostrov in Dunajská Streda was founded in 1964. The Yellow Mansion House has been its residence since 1970. The Museum building is a cultural monument.
In the picturesque environment on the bank of the Little Danube near the village Tomášikovo, the charming Water Mill of Tomášikovo stands there since 1893. The mill was actively used until 1960. It is interesting that in 1940, a dynamo was installed in it and thanks to that it also worked on electric drive.
The pan mill in Tomášikovo in the south-west of Slovakia is one of few surviving water mills in Slovakia with bottom mill race. Today is the technical monument, which demonstrates the past milling activities in southern Slovakia.

The Homeland Studies Museum in Galanta had its seat in the family residence of the Esterházys – a Neo-gothic mansion house in Galanta from 1970. Due to its renovation, the museum was removed to a building of a former bank in the centre of the town. The museum specializes in documenting history of miller´s trade in the river basin of the Malý Dunaj (Little Danube) and lower reaches of the Váh river.
The pride and symbol of Galanta is the Renaissance mansion. The mansion stands in the middle of a housing estate surrounded by panel buildings. In the past, it was set in a beautiful park. The Renaissance manor house belonged to the most important Hungarian noble family of Esterházy
The boat mill in Kolárovo in the south-west of Slovakia is the last existing specimen of the floating mill and the only boat mill in Slovakia. The mill houses the Boat Miller's Museum.
